Arctic Aurora Chase, een 10 daagse winter expeditie met 2 campers door hartje winter in het hoge noorden van Scandinavië. Noord Zweden, provincie Finnmark in Noorwegen, Fins Lapland en misschien zelfs Noordkaap. We gaan op jacht naar het noorderlicht, iedere nacht een andere locatie met ander landschap en laten ons leiden door noorderlicht- en weersverwachtingen. Geen vaste route maar samen bepalen waar we heen gaan… het grootste noorderlicht expeditie; beleving en avontuur! Daarom gaan we met campers op pad.

Tijdens de donkere maanden is in het hoge noorden van Scandinavië bijna iedere nacht noorderlicht te zien. Soms heftig, soms als een zwakke band, soms exploderend, soms rustig bewegend. Toch is het niet het noorderlicht wat het belangrijkste is voor het zien van misschien wel het meest spectaculaire nachtfenomeen, maar de weersverwachting. Noorderlicht zit ver boven de bewolking en ook maar enige bewolking gooit roet in het eten. Daarnaast biedt Scandinavië een enorme diversiteit aan landschappen en omgevingen waarin het noorderlicht een prachtig element kan vormen. Omdat Scandinavië echter zó groot is, is het bijna onmogelijk om vanaf een vaste locatie zowel een grote diversiteit aan nachtlandschappen op te zoeken als ervoor te zorgen dat je iedere nacht op een heldere plek aanwezig bent.

The Arctic Aurora Chase, a 10-day winter expedition with 2 campers through the middle of winter in the far north of Scandinavia. Northern Sweden, Finnmark province in Norway, Finnish Lapland and maybe even North Cape. We go ‘hunting’ for the Northern Lights, every night a different location with a different landscape. We are totally independent and let ourselves guide by the aurora – and weather forecasts. No fixed route, but together we decide where we go… the largest Northern Lights expedition; experience and adventure!
Please note: there are only a few places available!!
During the dark months, northern lights can be seen almost every night in the far north of Scandinavia. Sometimes intense, sometimes like a weak band, sometimes exploding, sometimes moving quietly. Yet it is not the Northern Lights that are most important for seeing perhaps the most spectacular night phenomenon, but the weather forecast. Northern Lights are far above the clouds and even a little cloud will spoil your plans. We teach you the whole process of weather – and aurora forecast.
In addition, Scandinavia offers an enormous diversity of landscapes and environments in which the Northern Lights will be a spectacular element. However, because Scandinavia is so large, it is almost impossible to visit a wide variety of night landscapes from a fixed location and to ensure that you are in a clear place every night. That’s why we organise this expedition with two campervans.
